Light the Night Walk-The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s fight against blood cancers-
When it comes to fighting blood cancers, Gold Coast Schools is quick to drop the gloves and come out swinging. Each fall the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) hosts a charity walk known as Light the Night in various cities across the U.S. and Canada. Participants walk to raise money to find cures for blood cancers that are in reach, and can be achieved with the proper research funding. On the night of the walk we gather to educate the community, celebrate battles that have been won, and commemorate those that we have lost along the way. With the generous donations from our staff and students, Gold Coast Schools was able to raise nearly $18,000 in 2010.

Blood Mobile-Florida Blood Centers
Few would be offended by being called a hero, and the title is not as difficult to earn as one may think. Gold Coast staff and students become heroes throughout the year by donating to the Blood Mobile as it visits our multiple South Florida locations. With the constant need for blood both locally, as well as in distant communities, Gold Coast Schools is proud to contribute to saving lives by hosting the Blood Mobile throughout the year.

Joe DiMaggio’s Children’s Hospital- Toy Drive
Gold Coast Schools embraces the holiday spirit each year by encouraging our staff and students to give back to children in need by donating a new, unwrapped toy, between $8 and $10 in value. Our 2010 contributions went to Joe DiMaggio’s Children’s Hospital in Hollywood, Florida. With an annual goal of collecting over 1,000 toys, Gold Coast Schools is proud to team up with various partners to help make every child’s holiday season even brighter.
